It is officially summer, and that means fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables from the Norwalk Health Department Farmers Market! The market will be held each Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm in the Health Department parking lot (137 East Avenue), from now through October.
Fruits and vegetables are a delicious way to eat well and keep us healthy. We should get five servings of fruits and vegetables every day, and the Health Department is working with a local farmer to bring great sources of fresh produce to the community.
Amelia’s Florist and Farm Market (Hamden, CT) will bring a variety of fruits and vegetables for purchase at the Health Department market this year. They accept cash, credit, and Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers. Space is available for additional vendors offering healthy foods.
For general information about the market, please call (203) 854-7776.
