(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, September 13, 2023, the City of Norwalk announced it’s hosting a free special mattress and box spring recycling collection this weekend. It will take place from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM this Saturday, September 16 at the Norwalk Public Works Center at 15 South Smith Street.

The free collection program will recycle mattresses and box springs through the City’s partnership with the Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises and Mattress Recycling Council’s Connecticut Bye Bye Mattress Program. This program gives residents an easy and convenient way to recycle their unwanted mattress and box springs.

Please note:  

• The mattress collection will take place at the Norwalk Public Works Center located at 15 South Smith Street, Norwalk, CT and individuals can park in the area next to the gas pumps. 
• The collection is open to City of Norwalk residents only. 
• Mattresses and box springs must be dry and intact.
