Norwalk Lowers Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Bristol Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty

(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, October 13, 2022, Governor Ned Lamont announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut lowered to half-staff in honor of two officers from the Bristol Police Department who were shot and killed in the line of duty late last night. Please see Mayor Rilling’s statement below.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the two police officers who lost their lives last night, along with the third police officer who was injured. I am keeping their families in my thoughts during this heartbreaking time. This is a sad day for CT and Norwalk stands with the Bristol Police Department during this challenging time. Following the Governor’s order to direct Connecticut flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the two officers who were killed in the line of duty, all Norwalk flags in city buildings should be lowered immediately. Norwalk will remember these officers as heroes who risked their lives to protect their community while responding to a domestic violence emergency,” - said Mayor Harry Rilling
