[ARCHIVED] Upcoming Norwalk Solid Waste & Recycling Holiday Schedule

The Yard Waste Site, located at 15 S. Smith Street, will be open Saturday, December 12 and Saturday, December 19 from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. These are the final Saturdays the site will be open in 2020. 

The Norwalk Transfer Station, located at 61 Crescent St., and the Yard Waste Site, will both close Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24 at 1 p.m. and will remain closed Christmas Day, Friday, December 25. The Transfer Station will reopen Saturday, December 26. The Yard Waste Site will reopen Monday, December 28.

There will be no garbage and recycling collection services by the City of Norwalk on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25. Garbage and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday, December 26. 

The Norwalk Transfer Station and the Yard Waste Site will close New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31 at 1 p.m. and will remain closed on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1. The Transfer Station will reopen Saturday, January 2, 2021. The Yard Waste Site will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2021.

There will be no garbage and recycling collection services by the City of Norwalk on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1. Garbage and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday, January 2. 

The Yard Waste Site will be open two Saturdays in January: January 9 and January 16. Christmas tree collection for Norwalk residents who receive City garbage collection will occur in January. A detailed collection schedule will be announced in early January.
