[ARCHIVED] City of Norwalk Veterans Day Program

US Flag

To celebrate our veterans, a free concert by the American Festival Band is being held at Norwalk City Hall in the Concert Hall, from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. The concert will be followed by the Veterans Day Ceremony from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both the Brien McMahon High School Navy Junior ROTC and the Norwalk High School Air Force Junior ROTC will participate.

As part of the ceremony, the traditional “One Minute of Silence” will be observed followed by a rifle volley salute performed by the Norwalk Police Department Honor Guard and Rifle Detail. A unique version of Taps will be performed by buglers from the NHS Marching Bears and the BMHS Marching Senators. Piper, Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Ed Prescott, will perform Amazing Grace.

Refreshments, courtesy of American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary, will be served in the Community Room following the ceremony.

The public is invited to join us for this special event.
