[ARCHIVED] Monday May 27th (Memorial Day) NO garbage and recycling collection

Holiday – Solid Waste & Recycling 

 On Monday May 27, 2019 (Memorial Day), there will be NO garbage and recycling collection for the City of Norwalk, and collection will be pushed back one day to follow the Holiday collection schedule.

Garbage normally collected on Monday May 27th, will be collected on Tuesday May 28th. Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday May 29th, and so on until Friday routes are collected on Saturday June 1st.

Recycling normally collected on Monday May 27th, will be collected on Tuesday May 28th. Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday May 29th, and so on until Friday routes are collected on Saturday June 1st.

The Norwalk Transfer Station, located at 61 Crescent Street, and the Yard Waste Site, located at 15 South Smith Street, will both be CLOSED on Monday May 27th (Memorial Day), and will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday May 28th.

All passenger vehicles must display a paper Norwalk Resident Pass as they enter both the Transfer Station and the Yard Waste Site.   

PLEASE NOTE: The 2018 Norwalk Resident Pass expired on March 31, 2019.  

Residents are required to have a paper copy of the 2019 Resident Pass; for cars or SUVs that enter the Norwalk Transfer Station or Yard Waste Site. Even though Norwalk parks and beaches will not require a Resident Pass for entry beginning May 15. 

Residents can go to the Recreation & Parks Department at City Hall or visit www.norwalkct.org/residentpass  

Norwalk Residents with Pick-up Trucks, Vans, and/or Trailers: The Resident Cards do not need to be renewed until July 1, 2019.
