Mayor Rilling is Guest Speaker on Tuesday, September 26th at the SMPS-NY Westchester Affiliate and the Construction Institute
Mayor Rilling will be a guest speaker at the Mayor’s Perspective Forum that will be held at the UCONN Stamford Campus on Tuesday, September 26th from 7:45 am – 11:30 am. Mayor Rilling will be speaking of the recent trends and developments that have occurred in Norwalk and the initiatives that he has introduced since being elected Mayor of Norwalk in 2013. His audience will include professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction trades.
Mayor Rilling will discuss his perspective on Norwalk’s growth and development and will provide insight into how he sees the city in the future and the areas surrounding it. Mayor Rilling noted that “the forum is my opportunity to discuss Norwalk’s future and how I can help shape that future by introducing initiatives that will make our city a desirable city for our present and future residents, businesses and visitors. I intend to talk about the initiatives that I have introduced that help make Norwalk the most livable and desirable place to call home in Fairfield County. I believe that my support for education by way of the capital improvement program, my clean streets initiative and planning for a more walk/bike-friendly community are just a couple of examples of how Norwalk stands out.”
Mayor Harry Rilling and the other Mayors from Fairfield County and Westchester will be joined on stage by their economic advisers to discuss their perspective and their plans in light of the current economic, political and social trends that are shaping the appearance of their cities. The Mayors and their colleagues will discuss how they believe the current and future projects will impact the revitalization of the region’s urban landscape, the challenges in meeting economic and social changes and how the A/E/C industry can support these changes to result in a collaborative effort of both government and building professionals.
