[ARCHIVED] 2016 Top Lighthouse Rating Awards Announced

The Norwalk Health Department has announced its Ninth Annual Top Lighthouse Rating Awards. This year, 212 eligible establishments received this distinction.

The Lighthouse rating system evaluates food establishments based on their compliance with the safety and sanitary guidelines of the public health code. The Health Department awards Top Lighthouse Ratings certificates to establishments that received consecutive excellent inspection grades in the previous year. You might notice these certificates hanging in your favorite restaurants!

In addition, each year, the Health Department and the Mayor recognize one award winner by presenting their certificate at a public ceremony. On January 23, Mayor Harry Rilling and Norwalk Director of Health Tim Callahan presented a Top Lighthouse Rating certificate to Primavera Italian Cuisine on New Canaan Avenue in Norwalk. Other city officials, as well as representatives from the Norwalk Board of Health and the Chamber of Commerce, attended to congratulate the staff at Primavera.

A list of all the 2016 Top Lighthouse Rating Awardees can be found here. Read more about the Lighthouse Ratings or to view the inspection records from any Norwalk food establishment here or go to the Norwalk Health Department website (www.norwalkhealth.com) and click on Restaurant Ratings.
