[ARCHIVED] The Norwalk Health Department Farmer's Market is Open!

Summertime means sunny days, time at the beach, and fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables from the Norwalk Health Department Farmer's Market! The market will be held each Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm in the Health Department parking lot (137 East Avenue), now through September.

Health experts recommend that we all aim for at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. In the summertime, the possibilities are endless: grilled corn on the cob, juicy tomatoes, fresh berries, or so many more delicious ways to eat well and stay healthy. Farmer's markets are great places to find fresh-from-the-farm options!

Plasko’s Farm (Trumbull, CT) will bring a variety of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and flowers for purchase at the Health Department market this year. The farmer accepts cash and vouchers from the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC). Space is available for additional vendors offering healthy foods.

For more information about the Health Department market, please call (203) 854-7776.
