Pet Disaster Kits & Shelters
Your pets are members of your family. Include them in your family disaster plan and create a disaster kit for each pet. For a great list of disaster preparedness resources for pets, please view the
Humane Society's disaster preparedness resources.
If a disaster shelter is set up in Norwalk, a pet shelter will be established as well in another part of the building. Be aware that owners are expected to stay at the shelter and help care for their pets. Make sure you bring a crate and some supplies like food, toys, and medication.
