Protective order

in a family violence situation are criminal and are issued after the accused has been arrested for committing a family violence crime.

Restraining orders

are civil and issued to protect victims of family violence from threats or further harm.

If you are the victim of family violence, or the victim of a violated order, contact the Police Department and request that an officer respond.
