Responsibilities

The Professional Standards Unit is responsible for:

• Internal affairs - Such as investigating complaints made against officers and conducting staff inspections of other operational components
• Planning, research, and accreditation - Including research on grant applications and overseeing accreditation compliance

The commanding officer, who is responsible for conducting inspections of all organizational components, also supervises a sergeant and reports directly to the Chief of Police.
