The Norwalk Department of Police Service obtains its authority from the people and is charged with the responsibility to achieve and maintain public order through the powers granted by the legislative bodies of the Federal, State and Municipal Governments.

Public confidence in the criminal justice system depends to a large extent on the trust that the people have in their police. Only by providing the highest quality of service and maintaining the highest professional ethics can we expect to foster that trust and confidence.
 
I am extremely proud to be a part of this highly professional team of men and women who have dedicated their lives to the service of this community. It is our goal to continue working towards bringing the department and community together in a closer relationship that will enable us to keep Norwalk a safe environment in which to raise our families.
